Sonic the HedgehogSonic the Hedgehog 1 was selling quite well on the Genesis/Megadrive. Sega was making lots of money from it, but of course thought of ways to increase their income. They of course looked towards their faithful Master System owners who had yet to upgrade to the Genesis/Megadrive. The decision was to make a new version of Sonic 1 for the Master System so that it would give them money from the Master System owning populous, and money from those who also owned Genesises/Megadrives since the levels were changed a lot.
Though this game lacks the graphical capabilities of the Sega Genesis, it still maintains the speed and action that made the original famous. The levels are still a joy to explore, and the boss battles are just as wonderful. Just like the original, Sonic the Hedgehog 1 for the Sega Master System contains 5 levels with 3 acts each with each 3rd act containing a boss for the level. This game is a joy that must not be passed up.
