Extracted Content
Hidden within the bowels of the game is a lot of content that never made it into the final version

These are all the HUD items appear on screen. Many of these items are never seen at all. Targets? Dog and human heads? Ice cream? What the hell?

These are the images that appear on the warp gates on the Soleana map. However, two levels, Crisis City and Flame Core don't have warp gates. They're only entered via story and trial mode. Then there's that 10th level. End of the World probably, but of course, that doesn't have a warp gate either.

Some of the newspapers seen floating across the city at random times. Note the image on the top left on the first newspaper, and the Engrish on the second and third (Daily Sorenea, "Where on Earth does the Princess?")

I think this is one of Eggman's monitors shown somewhere in the game. It's kind of funny how they seemingly pounded their heads on the keyboard to make the text for it (and seemingly how they programed the entirety of the game).

DaNGer indeed.

Things worth noting are in bold italics. The ???? item is most likely the Rainbow/Super gem. Silver had a "Speed Up" item, which gives you an increase in max speed, and apparently, you were once able to buy music from previous games.

"Very hard" is a downloadable extra on Xbox Live, however "super hard" doesn't exist. Additionally, there are no "additional episodes" for amigo characters, and, unless you count TeamAttackAmigo, no extra missions. What is very worth noting is the appearance of additional missions for Metal Sonic. Apparently, Metal Sonic was planned as a playable extra but never came to be.

This text was also extracted:
Get to the Goal Ring!
Get to the goal within $ minutes!
Collect $ rings!
Defeat all enemies!
Wipe out all enemies!
Get to the goal within $ minutes!
Collect $ rings!
Get to the goal before your rival!
Get to the goal before the ghost!
Find $ Chao!
Find the Goal Ring!
Get to the new Goal Ring!
Clear the minigame!
Clear hard mode!

A couple of these missions we see ingame, but most of them are never seen. The $ sign is a variable, it can mean anything. What's most interesting is that they originally had plans on doing an Sonic Adventure 2 style of missions per level, where you need to complete the level in a set amount of time, get x amount of rings, and find 1 or more chao. Additionally, they had a mission where you had to find a goal ring, then find a NEW one located elsewhere in a level. There's also evidence of a ghost mode for time trial and a rival racing mode, somewhat like Tails' missions in Sonic Adventure 1.
